Peggy Richter Byrd

Peggy Richter Byrd, 70, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at her home.

          Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Tilson officiating.  Interment will be in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. 

          The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM Saturday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.  

          Born November 29, 1950 in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Richter and Mervin Madell Perkins Richer.   Mrs. Byrd retired from Riverside Manufacturing Company as an office manager and was of the Baptist faith.   She loved her family, cooking, camping and family vacations.  Mrs. Byrd enjoy arts and crafts and panning for gold.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Marvin Wesley Byrd; brother, LeRoy Legrant Richter; sister, Elaine Richter Bruce; brother-in-law, Jerry Bruce; mother and father-in-law, Dorothy “Dot” and Marvin Byrd.

          Survivors include her beloved husband of 45 years, Larry Edward Byrd of Moultrie; children, Gary Wayne Byrd, Sr. and wife Pam of Creedmoor, NC, Kevin Edward Byrd of Moultrie, Larry Brian Byrd and fiancé Tori Cobb both of Moultrie; grandchildren, Gary, Jr., Josh, Morgan, Justin, Dagan, Saxton, Benjamin, Torrian, Braxton, Lainey, Kaden, Dewitt, Saylor and Brilan; great-grandchild, Maddie; sister and brother, Joann Richter Muse and husband Jerry of Moultrie, John Lester Richter and wife Martha of Eatonton, GA; sisters-in-law, Kathy Richter, Charlotte Byrd.
