Wylene Walker Goings

MOULTRIE, GA – Wylene Walker Goings, affectionately known as “Gunga” 100, of Moultrie, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022, at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 25, 2022, at Pinecrest Memory Gardens with the Reverend Matt Peek officiating. 

The family will greet friends after the service on Friday at Pinecrest Memory Gardens.

Born December 19, 1921, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Walker and Bessie Harden Walker.  Mrs. Goings was in retail sales at Braswell’s, Goings Men’s Wear and Schreiber’s.  She will always be remembered as a loving, compassionate woman, who had a giving heart, loved her family, church family and the community.   Mrs. Goings was known for her delicious pound cakes, beautiful handmade quilts, and her flower gardens.  She was active in the Lions Club, was on the board for Camp for the Blind, and was a Red Cross Volunteer.   The family would like to thank the special caregivers that were there to help her throughout her life. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JD Goings, grandson, Brandon Adams; sons-in-law, Charles Adams and Charles Prince; and her siblings.

Survivors include her children, Sandra Adams and JoAnn Prince both of Moultrie; grandchildren, Lisa Wommack and husband Brian of Bogart, April King and husband Kasey of Moultrie, Joey Prince, Jacob Prince both of Suwanee, JoBeth Prince of Burbank, CA; great-grandchildren, Anna Beth Wommack, Kason King, Adalyn King; bonus daughter, Clara Cates of Moultrie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the First Baptist Church of Moultrie or Colquitt Regional Hospice.
