Willie Aubryn Crawford, Jr.

Willie Aubryn Crawford, Jr., 75, of Hartsfield, journeyed home on February 15, 2020.  He was surrounded by his loving family at his residence.  

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Alexander and Rev. James Williams officiating.  Interment, with military honors, will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 on Tuesday evening, February 18, 2020, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. 

Casketbearers will be Josh Sullivan, Willie A. Crawford III, Johnny McCook, Brandon McCook, Taylor Braswell and Andy Hancock.

Born June 26, 1944, in Moultrie, he was the son the late Willie A. Crawford, Sr. and late Yuba Mae Johnson Crawford.  Mr. Crawford was a United States Army Veteran, having retired as a First Sergeant with 22 years of service.  He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and many other awards. In addition, he served 19 years as a correctional officer for Colquitt County and the State of Georgia.  Mr. Crawford had a deep love for his Lord and Savior and humbly served as a deacon at Westside Baptist Church of Moultrie.  He loved to fish and spend time with his precious family. 

Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his parents, Willie A. Crawford, Sr. and Yuba Mae Johnson Crawford, and one sister Joyce Patricia Crawford.

He is succeeded by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Faye Williams Crawford of Hartsfield; one sister, Brenda Crawford Edwards of Hartsfield; three children, LeeAnn Jarvis of Moultrie, Sabrina McCook and husband Johnny of Moultrie, and Willie Aubryn Crawford, III of Moultrie.  Mr. Crawford had 7 grandchildren:  Brittannie Jarvis, Brandon McCook and Mika Snipes, Ashley McCook Salter, Angelica Crawford, Kalen Crawford, Charliegh Crawford.  He had 3 great-grandchildren – Emma Kadence McCook, Elena Grace Salter, and Makinzie Gray.  He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
