Born November 12, 1933, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Ivey Rowe and Ethel Willis Rowe. She was a faithful member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church where she held many positions and had great joy teaching young children and serving the Lord. Mrs. Bell worked at Warner Brothers in Moultrie in her early years and was a paraprofessional at Funston Elementary School for a short time. However, most of her time she would be found in her kitchen cooking for her family and friends, including the farm workers and neighbors in the community. Mrs. Bell managed the family hog operation for many years which included birthing and caring for the pigs. She had a passion for gardening, maintaining flower beds and making the yards around her home look beautiful. Mrs. Bell was an excellent seamstress and would sew clothing for her family and herself. She enjoyed being outdoors, going fishing while spending quality time with her family. Mrs. Bell was a true southern lady, who was loved and cherished by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles Irwin Bell, Sr.; brothers, J.B. Rowe, Ray Rowe, Carl Rowe, and Ralph Rowe.
Survivors include her children, Rhonda Bell Hatcher of Albany, GA, Tammi Bell Herring and husband Bill of Hoschton, GA, Charlie Bell and Valrie of Moultrie, GA, and Rodney Joe Bell of Doerun, GA; grandchildren, Blaire Hatcher Holbrook and husband Bill, Mallory Hatcher, Bryan Herring, Allison Herring Lawrence and husband Jeff, Grant Bell and wife Katie, Harrison Bell and wife Allison; great-grandchildren, Jonah, Rebekah, Lydia, Levi, Hallie, Camille, Anslee and Jake; sister, Laura Anne Ackley and husband Eddie of Albany, GA.
