MOULTRIE, GA – William Howard Foy, Jr., 92, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at South Ga Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 25, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Hugh Ward officiating. Private interment will be in Westview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be Paulk Foy, Davis Edwards, Mike Ward, Harrison Ward, Reeves Foy, and Robert Foy. Honorary casketbearers will be the Colquitt Regional Medical Center Bluebirds.
Born April 18, 1931, in Sylvester, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Howard Foy, Sr. and Madeline Foy. Mr. Foy was a United States Army Veteran who served as a First Lieutenant in the First 22nd Infantry Regiment Army from 1953-1955. He was stationed in Germany and loved traveling there and continued going back to Europe and Germany for visits. As a tribute to his service, he was featured in the Old Friends Information Service magazine after his army buddies had a reunion in 1997. Mr. Foy retired from Bank of America, formerly Georgia Bank and Trust in Macon. He attended the University of Georgia and was a loyal Bulldog fan. Mr. Foy was a former president of Moultrie Kiwanis in 1970-1971 and was a proud Bluebird Volunteer at Colquitt Regional Medical Center for 17 years and earned 4,600 volunteer hours. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Moultrie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Peggy Foy.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Brenda Kaye Unwin Foy of Moultrie; children, Belinda Ward and husband Mike of Hamilton GA, Reeves Foy and wife Suzanne of Moultrie, Robert Foy and wife Linda of Atlanta; grandchildren, Courtney Foy Edwards and husband Davis, Paulk Foy and wife MarLeigh, Catherine Foy, Ethan Foy, Harrison Henry Howard Ward, Hayden Michael Ward; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Grace Edwards, John Davis Edwards and Emerson Leigh Foy; several other extended family members and friends.
