MOULTRIE, GA – Willette Lupo Pearson, 85, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at her residence. A Celebration of Life Service to honor the lives of both Willette and James (Jim) Pearson will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 30, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Moultrie with Reverend Matt Peek officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the Service Hour begins. A private interment will be held July 1, 2024.

Born August 17, 1938, in Omega, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late G.W. Lupo and Myrtle Powell Lupo of Omega, Georgia.

She was a devoted wife to Jim, her husband of 54 years, and stood by him faithfully until his passing just a month earlier.

Mrs. Pearson graduated from ABAC and Georgia State College for Women. During college, she spent her summers as a counselor at Rock Eagle 4H Camp and had the honor of being selected as an International Farm Youth Exchange Student living in the Netherlands for six months. Willette had a successful career with Eastern Airlines lasting many decades and culminating as the company’s Personnel Director. After retiring, she and Jim moved to Moultrie where she poured her time and energy into her family, her church, and the Moultrie Federated Guild.

As a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Moultrie, Willette exhibited her truly generous and giving spirit. She loved the Lord and her church family, especially her Sunday School Class.

Willette was an excellent cook, gardener, and hostess, and she thrived most when serving others. Her wit and positive outlook were exemplified daily and she will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her unwavering kindness. She touched countless lives leaving a legacy of devotion and compassion.

She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James C. Pearson and a brother-in-law, Wilford McHargue. Survivors include her siblings, Betty McHargue, Sandra Smith and husband Terrell, Clara Dunaway and husband Jim, Jerry Lupo and wife Terri; nieces, Amanda Lupo and Traci Harper; nephews, Paul McHargue, Rodney McHargue, and Chad Smith.

Donations made to First Baptist Church of Moultrie or The Gideons International would be appreciated.
