Moultrie, Georgia – Willene Beverly Eldridge, 89, of Moultrie, Georgia, peacefully left to be with her Lord, who she loved dearly and put all her trust in, on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at her residence, while surrounded by her loving family.
A celebration of her homegoing will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Mark Clingan officiating. Private family interment will take place at Westview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 AM, Thursday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers are her grandsons, Chad Eldridge, Derrick Eldridge, William Zac Eldridge, Jonathan Summerlin, Andrew Summerlin, and Justin Summerlin. Honorary pallbearers are her eight great-grandsons.
Born September 5, 1936, in Haines City, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Willie L. Beverly and the late Evie Lane Beverly.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William A. “Pappie” Eldridge; brothers, Wilton Beverly, Lloyd Beverly, Troy Beverly and Gerald Beverly; and a sister, Eugenia Beverly Stancil.
Left to cherish her memory to whom she was a supportive and loving mother are her children, Dennis Eldridge (Martha), Jan Eldridge (Greg), Doug Eldridge (Rhonda) and Terry Summerlin (John); grandchildren, Chad Eldridge, Derrick Eldridge, William Zac Eldridge (Justine), Jonathan Summerlin (Krysta), Andrew Summerlin (Beckie), Justin Summerlin, April Dowdy (Jason), Amanda Castro (Ernesto) and Allyson Butcher (Sean); sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
Willene attended Moultrie First Church of the Nazarene and was a former member of Northside Assembly and Lakeside Assembly of God. She taught many years of Sunday school, led ladies’ meetings and held prayer groups at all three churches. She will always be remembered as a prayer warrior for family and friends. Her knowledge of the Bible and Christian advice was a blessing to many over the years. For 55 years she was a devoted military wife to William (Bill/Pappie) Eldridge who preceded her in death.
A special thanks goes to Lizzie Woodard for her friendship and excellent care of Nana. Also, to Nurse Jade Porter, Nurse Lindsey Bryant, and CNA Falecia Moore of Colquitt Regional Hospice for their care and support.
