MOULTRIE, GA – Wayne Curtis Evans, 78, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at Colquitt Regional Senior Care and Rehabilitation.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Born March 30, 1945, in Athens, Georgia, he was the son of the late Harold Austin Evans and Kathryn Grace Manus Spratlin. Mr. Wayne was a 1963 graduate of Athens High School and a 1969 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. He retired in February 2023 from Colquitt Regional Medical Center with 51 years of service with many of them as the Department Head of Pharmacy. For his outstanding and dedicated work ethics, the Hospital Authority Board of Trustees recently created a scholarship in his name.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Wade Wages; stepfather, Tom Spratlin; stepmother, Marian Evans.
Survivors include his sons, David W. Evans, Richard K. Wages; grandchildren, Janis Evans, Dylan Wages, Taylor Burch; sister, Terri Reeves and husband Greg; special friend, Terri Stallings; mother of his children, Barbara Evans-Fritz; nieces and nephews, Chad Reeves, Kathryn McHugh and husband Drew, Katelyn LeBlanc and husband Taylor; fur babies, Smokey and Cali; several other extended family members and friends.
