Vivian Ann Horne

MOULTRIE, GA – Vivian Ann Dorminey Horne, 84, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Legacy Village at Park Regency. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 24, 2023, at New Elm Cemetery with the Reverend Hugh Ward. The family will receive friends after the service at New Elm Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Joshua Lacey, Lendon Wiggins, Carter Summerlin, Michael Horne, Chris Summerlin, and Jose Sanchez. Born September 26, 1938, in Doerun, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas Dorminey and Mary Lois Golden Dorminey. Mrs. Vivian was a homemaker and a member of New Elm Baptist Church. She was a Blue Bird volunteer at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Vivian enjoyed playing card games, traveling and was an excellent seamstress. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at Legacy Village and all the Hospice staff members that was involved in the caring of Mrs. Vivian. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Donald Horne, Sr.; sisters, Melba Brown and Linda Hathcock; brother, Jerry Dorminey. Survivors include her children, Don Horne and wife Diane of Doerun, Carole Horne of Moultrie; grandchildren, Michael Horne, Kelli Horne Summerlin and husband Chris, Joshua Lacey and wife Rachel, Jena Lacey; great-grandchildren, Kate Summerlin, Carter Summerlin, Lendon Wiggins, Addyson Lacey, Raelin Lacey; brother-in-law, Jimmy Hathcock; special caregiver, Chassity Brown; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
