Virginia Carolyn Gay

 Virginia Carolyn Gay, 71, of Moultrie, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Born January 16, 1951, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Hubert Gay and Lenora Pauline Murphy Gay.  Mrs. Gay was a special lady who loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews.  She had a special love for all children that was reflected in her 35 year career as a Teacher.  Mrs. Gay poured her heart and mind into countless students in the Colquitt County School System.  She was a 20 year member of the Moultrie Civitan Club and had served as the Club Secretary for the last 5 years of her membership.  Mrs. Gay loved her dogs and treated them as part of the family.  She was a true lady who left a lasting impression on those who met her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Eugene Gay.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, James “Jim” Lane, Jr, of Moultrie; her brothers, Johnny Gay and wife Lois of Moultrie, D.K. Gay and wife Suzanne of Rome, GA and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
