Moultrie, Georgia – Tommie Lee Allegood, 75, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Mark Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 PM, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be Brad Hart, Dennis Shelton, Alex Shelton, CJ Poole, Mason Shelton and Jayden Davidson.
Born February 24, 1951, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of Alden Lawson Allegood and Nellie Mae Worrell Hall, of blessed memory. He is also preceded in death by his stepfather, Clarence Hall.
Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Allegood Shelton, Tina Allegood Hart and husband, Brad, and Sheila Allegood Poole and husband, CJ; grandchildren, Alex Shelton and wife, Luz, Emily Shelton Collins and husband, James, Hannah Shelton and boyfriend, Trae, Mason Shelton, Les Ponder and girlfriend, Ashley, Shelby Hart, Chandler Hart, Jayden Davidson, Charity Davidson, Kaylie Davidson, Elijah Allegood, and Lilly Mitchell; sister, Susan Allegood Brightwell and husband, Eddie; as well as his former wife and mother of his children, Karen Allegood. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Following his honorable service in the United States Air Force, he went to work and retired after 23 years from the Colquitt County Prison as a Sergeant. His spare time was devoted to family, watching any kind of automotive races, news, the weather and his feline companions. In his earlier years, he attended Riverside Holiness Church and deeply loved his Lord and Savior.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
