Tom J. Barfield

July 12, 1941 — August 4, 2022

Tom J. Barfield, 81, of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating.  Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Jimmy Pyle, Jaymen Davis, Edward Peterson, Aaron Herring, Jeff Smith and Robbie Singletary.  

Born July 12, 1941, in Whigham, Georgia, he was the son of the late Jesse Edward Barfield and Dollie Mae Sadler Barfield.  Mr. Barfield was the owner and operator of Barfield Sheet Metal and a member of the Christian Crusade Church.   He loved the Lord and his family dearly.   Mr. Barfield was a hardworking, family man who enjoyed fishing and camping.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Lynn Wilson; brother, MacArthur Barfield.

Survivors include his wife, Ivy Lynn Ranew Barfield of Moultrie; children, Linda Carol Davis and Addison of Leesburg, Glenda Sue Barfield of Thomasville, Bonnie Faye Boyette of Albany, Roger Barfield of Cairo, Charlene Regina Grace and Edward Peterson of Moultrie, William Daniel Grace and Nicole of Moultrie; grandchildren, James Lee Pyle II, Melissa Quamish, Aaron Joseph Herring, Ashley Davis, Joseph (Jaymen) Davis V, Jake Addison Davis, Stephanie Marie Griffin, Vannahme Rae Edenfield and Clark, William Cory Shiver and Kristina, James Edward (Eddie) Chastain, Johnny Lee Chastain, Cody Alan Cowart, Kristina Wilson, Justin Wilson, Angel Bradford, Bryant Barfield, Ivy Barfield, Kaitlin Barfield, Ryan Branson, Kaitlyn Tinsley, Jasmine Paavo, Serenity Barnett, Autumn Barnett, Olivianna Grace, Jamirah Peterson, Jacorey Peterson, Jacolby Peterson; twenty-three great-grandchildren; brothers, Alvin Barfield and Sybil of Cairo, Thomas W. Barfield and Shirley of Cairo; sisters, Gussie Nix of Cairo, Emma Edenfield of Cairo, Linda Smith and William of Valdosta; twenty-three nieces and nephews, and many friends.
