Gainesville, Florida – Thomas Stephen Hicks, 71, of Gainesville, Florida, formerly of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on June 19, 2026.

The family will honor and celebrate his life privately, with inurnment at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

Born August 20, 1954, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was a son of the late George William Hicks, Sr. and the late Carmen Cowart Hicks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Kay Hicks, Aaron Hicks and Mike Hicks.

Survivors include his son, Derrick Hicks; siblings, George Hicks, Jr. and wife, Margie, Debbie Miller and husband, Tyrone and Danny Hicks and wife, Kim; sisters-in-law, Denise Hicks and Missy Hicks; fifteen nieces and nephews; thirty-two great-nieces and nephews; and fourteen great-great-nieces and nephews.

He honorably served in the US Navy and worked as a draftsman and foreman with Cives Steel for many years. IN his free time, he enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, flipping houses, playing Bingo and traveling. His family also remembers him as being a jokester and never meeting a stranger.
