A service to celebrate his life is 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Winston Baker officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Born December 26, 1960, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was a son of Dewitt Wandall Allegood and Carolyn Carlton Allegood, of blessed memory.
He is survived by his children, Thomas “Tommy” J. Allegood and wife, Brooke and Quintin Allegood; grandchildren, Vincent Allegood, Abby Allegood and Deacon Allegood; siblings, Terry Allegood and wife, Shari, Jerry Allegood and wife, Susan and Kim Allegood Sullivan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
A talented automotive mechanic, he dedicated more than 50 years to his craft, earning the respect of those who knew him for his exceptional skill, meticulous workmanship, and unwavering commitment to doing every job right. Whether diagnosing a complex mechanical issue or restoring an engine to peak performance, he approached each task with patience, precision, and pride. Of all the vehicles he worked on through the years, the Chevrolet Camaro remained his favorite; which throughout the years, he had the opportunity to own several.
His passion for understanding how things worked extended far beyond the garage. He enjoyed tinkering with just about anything he could get his hands on, always eager to repair, improve or create something with his own hands. His analytical mind and love of solving problems also made detective dramas among his favorite pastimes, especially Law & Order and NCIS, where he appreciated the attention to detail and methodical pursuit of the truth.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
