Sybil Doris Pope Summerlin

Sybil Doris Pope Summerlin, 71, of Moultrie, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday June 10, 2021, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Matt Greene officiating.  Interment will be Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00- 1:45 PM Thursday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born December 26, 1949, in Moultrie Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Aaren Oscar “A.O” Pope and Eula Doris Barnwell Pope.  Mrs. Summerlin retired from Waterman Hospital in Leesburg, Florida as a medical clerk and was of the Baptist faith.   She loved her family and enjoying spending time with them at the beach and traveling in the RV.  Mrs. Summerlin also enjoyed riding motorcycles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Summerlin; sister, Brenda Bozeman, brother-in-law, Harvey Bozeman; nephew, Scott Merritt.

Survivors include her children, Chris Yaros and wife Christy of Avon Park, Connecticut, Bill Summerlin and wife Vickie, Judy Mishoe and husband Lowell all of Leesburg, Florida, Randy Summerlin of Florida; grandchildren, Hayley Yaros, Liberty Crane and husband Daniel, Jennifer Mendell and husband Rob; great-grandchildren, Laila Goney and husband Justin, Kendall Goodman, Jacob Miller, Maila Mendell, Bailey Mendell, Jerry Mendell; great-great-grandchildren, Skye Pickett, Luna Goney; sister, Lynn Mercer of Moultrie, Georgia; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
