Susan Sims Taylor

Moultrie, Georgia – Susan Sims Taylor, 77, of Moultrie Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at her residence, lovingly surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 5, 2025, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Reverend Paul Worsham officiating.  Private interment is at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM, Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel

Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Born November 2, 1948, Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James Key “JK” Sims, Jr. and the late Mary Frances Pass Sims.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Anderson Taylor; and mother-in-law, Reba Chambers Taylor.

She taught for 31 years for the Colquitt County School System, with the majority of her years being at Funston Elementary School, where she blessed countless students throughout the years. She was a faithful member at Oak Grove Baptist Church, and enjoyed collecting Longaberger baskets, antique Singer sewing machines and quilting; but most importantly, she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Rodney L. Taylor; daughters, Sarah Taylor Howell and Anna Taylor Watkins and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Caroline Howell, JK Howell, Taylor Watkins, TC Watkins, CR Watkins, Arley Kate Watkins and Ashleigh Watkins; great-grandson, Caulder Farrer; brother, Bubba Sims and wife, Frances; and sister-in-law, Brenda Tucker and husband, Richard. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice or to Oak Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
