Shelvia Jean Sharpe Houston

MOULTRIE, GA- Shelvia Jean Sharpe Houston, 70, of Moultrie, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at Cobblestone Health and Rehabilitation.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tony Phillips and Pastor Wilburn Shaffer officiating.  Interment will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.  

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 PM Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born April 30, 1952, in Toombs County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John T. Sharpe, Sr. and Dorothy Johnson Sharpe.   Mrs. Shelvia was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God.  She loved her family, cooking and listening to gospel music.   Mrs. Shelvia enjoyed playing monopoly, watching movies especially the Hallmark Channel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, John T. Sharpe, Jr., Gilbert Charles Sharpe.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, William A. “Sonny” Houston of Moultrie; children, Greg Houston and wife Tonya of Chattanooga, TN, Gary Wilkes, Kevin Houston both of Moultrie; grandchildren, Tyler Houston, Dustin Houston, Ian Seale, Lauren Houston, and Landon Houston; siblings, Sue Houston and fiancé Todd Norman, Robert “Bobby” Sharpe, Chester Sharpe all of Moultrie; beloved pet Chihuahua, “Prissy”; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
