Shelly Carlton Cook

August 5, 1928 — October 1, 2020

          MOULTRIE, GA.- Shelly Carlton Cook, 92, of Moultrie, died Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

          Funeral service will be held 3:00PM Monday, October 5, 2020 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Norman officiating.  Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens with Mr. Courtney Azar officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended.

          Casketbearers will be Clint Cook, Ashley Cook, Courtney Azar, Clayton Azar, Wesley Norman, Cais Cook, Taylor Azar, Cam Cook, Canyon Cook and Blayden Gay.  The Masonic Lodge # 381 will serve as honorary casketbearers.

          Born August 5, 1928 in Brooks County, GA, he was the son of the late Albert Carlton Cook and Florence Bryant Cook.  Mr. Cook retired as the owner refrigeration and air condition business and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.   He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 65 years and was a Gideon.  His family remembers how he loved his family, his church family and enjoyed meeting people and socializing.    Mr. Cook enjoyed the outdoors, he went camping, enjoyed gardening and being around horses.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Wynell Peek Cook; brothers, Glenn Cook, Emmett Cook and Bobby Cook.

          Survivors include a son, Ronnie Cook and wife Donna of Poulan; a daughter, Sandra Cook Azar and husband Rene of Moultrie; grandchildren, Clint Cook and wife Dana, Ashley Cook, Kathryn Cook, Wesley Norman, Mason Mims, Meagan Jofre and husband Christian, Brandy Azar, Courtney Azar and wife Tina; great-grandchildren, Cais Cook, Cam Cook, Canyon Cook, Casidy Cook Walden and Mark, Emily Cook, Brianna Norman, Kena Bayer, Miles Mims, Taylor Azar, Shelly Azar, Clayton Azar, Reese Azar, Karli Weeks and husband Seth, Blayden Gay and Levee Odom, Oscar Jofre, Isaac Jofre, Alina Jofre; great-great- grandchild, Nora Grace Weeks.

          Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
