Ruth Tucker Lastinger

MOULTRIE, GA – Ruth Tucker Lastinger, 99, of Moultrie, went home to be with her Lord on April 1, 2024. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Reverend Charlie Tucker officiating.  Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 PM on Saturday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born February 12, 1925, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Elsie Tucker and Eve Thompson Tucker.  Mrs. Lastinger was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family dearly.  She worked as a Finance Officer for the Community Action Council.  Mrs. Lastinger was a skilled seamstress who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and making quilts.  She was an avid reader who enjoyed studying her Bible.  Mrs. Lastinger loved her Lord and served as a Sunday School Teacher for over 60 years telling others about Christ.  She was a faithful member at Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew T, Lastinger; a granddaughter, Neticha Lastinger; and sisters, Clotile Hatcher and Loette McGuire.

Survivors include her children, Eugene Lastinger and wife Betty, Leslie Lastinger and wife Gloria and Anthony Lastinger and wife Beverly; grandchildren, Andrew Lastinger, Jr., Donna Lastinger, Michelle Whitney and husband Tim, Nichole Bradley and husband Jake, Amanda York and husband Bryan, and Benton Lastinger and wife Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Hannah Stringi and husband Efren, Elijah Lastinger, Andrew Bradley, Sarah Bradley, Curtis Whitney, Tara Whitney, Victoria Whitney, Brady York, Chloe York, Coby Lastinger and Silas Lastinger; sister, Gwen Turner; several nieces and nephews; along with numerous other extended family members and friends.
