Mrs. Norman, (Maxine to all who knew and loved her), was born on April 1, 1927, in Moultrie, Georgia.  She was the daughter of the late Ryan Carroll Martin and Rebecca Maebelle Tucker Martin.  She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Rest Primitive Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL.  Maxine married the love of her life, James Cleveland Norman, a Master Sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps. on May 13, 1950.  She gladly traveled with him to Oceanside, CA, Cherry Point, NC, and Jacksonville, FL while raising their children during his 20 years in the service. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her dear siblings, Raymond C. Martin, Shirley Martin Vinson, Inita Martin Willis, and Willard Martin, and her beloved pets Shug, Pookie, and Tiger.

Survivors include her children, Richard R. Norman (Sharon) of Orange Park, FL, James C. Norman, Jr. (Jane) of St. Augustine, FL, Cris Delquore (Bob) of Norway, ME; grandchildren, Colin and Tobin; two great-grandchildren and several other extended family members and friends.
