ADEL, GA – Rodney L. Brinson, Sr., 55, of Adel, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Monday, November 18, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Pastor Stuart Bundy; Preacher Coty Thomas and Mr. Gentry Widner officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:15 PM Monday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be Jay Knight, Tim Hobbs, Tommy Hancock, Joey Brinson, Chris Ward, and Roger Roach.
Born February 20, 1969, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late William Luther Brinson and Doris Roberts Brinson. Mr. Rodney was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a gifted musician and songwriter who enjoyed playing music. Mr. Rodney was a Call of Duty fan and a formidable player in the game. He had many interests and hobbies in life, but his greatest love was his family whom he cherished with all his heart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Kathleen; and grandchild, Peyton.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Joy Leverett Brinson; children, Rodney “R.J.” L. Brinson, Jr.; Chakara Brinson Pittman; grandchildren, Jaylen Rentz, Anthony Pittman, McKylee Rentz, Liam Brinson, Waylan Brinson, Greyson Brinson and Dakota Brinson; aunt, Maomie Roberts; uncles, Theron Roberts, Pete Brinson, Ronnie Brinson, and Billy Brinson; along with a number of extended family members and close friends.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangement.
