Norman Park, GA.- Robert Franklin Weeks, 82, of Norman Park, passed away February 24, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Warren Gilpin and Rev. Ron Stinson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Coolsprings Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended. Casketbearers will be Timmy Norman, Bobby Wilson, Doyle Martin, Jimmy Thompson, Ricky Wright, and Tommy Turner. Born July 22, 1938 in Norman Park, GA, he was the son of the late Oscar Weeks and Lillie Maude Wright Weeks. Mr. Weeks spent his life farming, growing peanuts and corn, and raising his well-loved cows, goats, and chickens. He loved growing peas for the public and planting a garden for his family. He enjoyed working with hands. Being a masterful “jack of all trades”, he could just about fix anything. He enjoyed Sunday School, going to church and loved his church family at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. The family recalls Mr. weeks as a loving husband, father, and Papa. He served his country in the US Army for two years becoming a sergeant. During his service, he was a Lineman and received a Good Conduct Medal. He was a sharpshooter with a rifle M-14. For two years he served in the Reserves and was on standby for an additional two years. Mr. Weeks retired after 42 years of service as a Die Caster from Harvey Hubble. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Greg Weeks; sister, Maggie Jean Cox; and brother, Herman Dean Weeks. Survivors include his wife Katrena Ann Taylor Weeks of Norman Park; children, Doug and wife Denise Weeks of Norman Park, Amanda and husband Ed Giddens of West Berrien; grandchildren, Taylor Mae, Karli and Jordan Weeks, Madelyn and Gregory Giddens; siblings, Aline Holder, Linda Kay Ross and husband Darrel, Betty Miller and husband Coy; several nieces and nephews.
