Hartsfield, Georgia – Rebecca Ann Wilson, 79, of Hartsfield, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 19, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Chuck Scarborough and the Reverend S.E. Newberry officiating. Interment will be at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 AM, Friday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be Eli Hemingway, Nathan Wilson, Jeremy Sutton, Noah Hawkins, Raven Hamilton, Amber Haire and Samantha Sutton.
Born June 17, 1946, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Frampton “FM” Melton and the late Hazel Rhodes Melton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Haley Parrish Howell; sister, Peggy Melton Harrell; and brother, Bobby Melton.
Ann was a natural florist from a very young age. She returned to this love after her children were older. Ann worked in the floral business when one day she decided to open her own shop.
Ann later went on to work as a first grade Paraprofessional for many years until she retired. During her time in first grade, she loved a lot of children. She would often be heard saying “first grade is the best grade to be in; they are old enough to be potty trained and young enough not to talk back. She dearly loved these years.
Ann was married to the love of her life for 63 years. Together they made precious memories. During the last thirty years she was his “Roadie.” She supported Billy’s music wherever it led them to. More than anything, Ann was a loving wife, mama, grandmama and great grandmama.
Survivors include her husband of almost 63 years, Billy Lamar Wilson; daughter, Pam Wilson Morgan and husband, Buck; sons, Tim Wilson and wife, Amanda and Ben Wilson and wife, Tasha; grandchildren, Amber Nunes Haire and husband, Tim, Samantha Wilson Sutton and husband, Jeremy, Laura Morgan, Nathan Wilson and Caitlin, Tia Wilson and Noah, Lily Grace Wilson and Raven, Eli Hemingway, Olivia Hemingway and Amber Beverly; great-grandchildren, Natalie Wilson, Addison Wilson, Beau Thomas Pendley, Judd Sutton, Aubree Ann Sutton, Cora Hamilton, Waylon Lamar Wilson, McKinley Hemingway, Harper Hemingway and Selene Haire; brother, Mark Melton and wife, Suzanne; a very special aunt, Faye Bius; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation for all of the care and support shown to them by the staff of Colquitt Regional Hospice.
