MOULTRIE, GA – Rayford Delane Causey, 82, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.
A graveside service, with miliary honors, will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Greenfield Cemetery, in Moultrie, Georgia with the Reverend Blaine Walden officiating.
The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 -1:45 PM Wednesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
The United States Army Honor Guards will serve as casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers will be James Motley, Denver Hall, John Fillingame, and Randall Willis.
Born May 6, 1943, in Anderson City, Georgia, he was the son of the late Lawrence “L.B.” Causey and Blanche Hart Causey. Mr. Rayford was a United States Army Retiree with 22 years of service. After his retirement from the Army, he was a Deputy Warden at the Colquitt County Prison for 20 years. Mr. Rayford was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed volunteering at Colquitt Regional Medical Center and helping others.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lawrence Causey, Fred Causey, Evelyn Allegood and Harrell Causey.
Survivors include his wife of almost 68 years, Shirley Ann Causey; sons, Dwayne Causey and wife Sima and Mason Causey and wife Stephanie; daughter, Sheila Causey; grandchildren, Brittany Touchton and husband Zeph, Whitney Lindsey and husband Matt, Camellia Naquil and husband Ian, Rebekah Causey, Madison Causey, Mason Causey, Connor Causey, Aiden Causey, Kylei Somerville-Kelly, Cameron Somerville, Khloe Somerville, and Alexander Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Israel Causey, Wyatt Rosencrantz, Gaberial Causey, Silas Touchton, Jack Lindsey, Slate Touchton, Lanie Lindsey, Ares Causey and Kadence Kelly; nephew, Donnie Causey: niece, Cathy Causey; numerous other extended family members and friends.
