Preston Terrell Knowles

Preston Terrell Knowles, 66, of Moultrie passed away June 21, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Mr. Don Crews officiating.  The family will receive friends for 1 hour before the service.

Born September 4, 1955, in Alabama, he was the son of the late Clair Pope Knowles and her husband, Mr. Knowles.  Mr. Knowles was a Veteran having served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.  He continued to serve the public as a Correctional Officer with the Georgia Department of Corrections for many years before retiring.  Mr. Knowles was a licensed pilot who loved the freedom of flying and all airplanes in general.   He not only admired airplanes but also built and flew his own plane at one time.  Mr. Knowles had a sharp and witty sense of humor but inside was a very caring, giving person who always wanted to help others.  He was a devoted family man who cherished his family.  Mr. Knowles was a member of Gordon Avenue Baptist Church in Adel and also attended virtual services at Funston Baptist Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Beth Johnson Knowles of Moultrie; children, Tori Stone of Moultrie and Lori Mullis and husband Shane of Tifton; grandchildren, Holly Singletary, Leah Crews and Mila Stone; great-grandchild, Aubrey Singletary; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Rather than floral tributes, the family requests that memorials be made in his honor to Colquitt Regional Hospice, 2516 5th Ave SE, Moultrie, GA 31776.
