Peggy Joanne Thompson

VALDOSTA, GA – Peggy Joanne Thompson, 88, of Valdosta, formerly of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Langdale Hospice House. 

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery with Jeff Bickers officiating. 

Born April 20, 1936, in Moultrie, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Terry Willis and Cora Lee Williams Willis. Mrs. Joanne retired from Riverside Manufacturing Company as a seamstress and was a member of Moultrie Church of God. She was a wonderful, caring wife, mother and grandmother, who loved her family dearly. Mrs.Joanne was the proud owner of Red Barn Crafts, where she displayed her ceramics, sewing and woodworking skills. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Thompson; great-grandson, David Stanfill; brothers, Curtis Willis and Edwin Willis; brothers-in-law, JD Thompson and Dock Thompson.

Survivors include her children, Terry Thompson and wife Cathy of Moultrie, Judy Bickers and husband Jeff of Valdosta, Tommy Thompson and wife Ruth of Moultrie; grandchildren, Jeremy Thompson and wife Linsie, Laken Ward and Ryan Beckham, Chance Bickers, Connor Bickers, Sam Stanfill and Hope Amador, Jim Stanfill and wife Katrina; great-grandchildren, Analee Thompson, Joslin Thompson, Bowen Thompson, Zoey Ward, Gabby Ward, Aden Ward, Alissa Beckham, Airen Beckham, Adam Stanfill and wife Haley, Levi Stanfill, Noah Stanfill and Taylor Stanfill; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Carol Braswell and husband Steve; sister-in-law, Mildred Thompson and Dorothy Thompson; special niece, Kristen Jolly; several other nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Georgia.
