Peggy Joyce Brannon Little

May 30, 1936 — December 5, 2020

Peggy Joyce Brannon Little, 84 of Moultrie, passed away December 5, 2020, at Legacy Village of Tifton. Mrs. Little was born May 30, 1936, in Winter Haven, Florida and was the daughter of the late Burman R. Brannon and Dovie Riley Brannon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 10th, at 2:00 pm at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Russ Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. The family requests that all attendees wear masks. Pallbearers will be Travis Anderson, Justin Little, Garrett Wingate, Brock Hanberry, Matt Davis, and Garron Wingate. Peggy was a devoted wife, loving mother, and homemaker that deeply cared for her family and friends. As a Navy spouse, she supported her husband’s career which took the family to Maryland, Virginia, Alaska, and Connecticut before returning to her hometown of Moultrie in 1976. Peggy loved to cook and bake for her family, earning several awards for her breads, pickles, and jams. She was also an avid flower gardener, and had a love of crafts, including needlepoint, cross stitch, crewel embroidery, crochet, and ceramics. Undoubtedly, her favorite activity was quilting with her three sisters who learned from their mother, earning the foursome the nickname of the Stitching Sisters. The Stitching Sisters collectively created over 1,000 quilts that remain family treasures today. Peggy also had a love of music that she passed down to all four of her children. Perhaps her most inspiring quality was the ability to create an individual connection and special relationship with each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. It is this unique ability that will be missed most of all. Her loving marriage of 53 years remains a beautiful example that endures for all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Little, brothers Hugh Brannon, Max Brannon, and Ted Brannon; sisters Wilma Glover, Catherine Campbell, and Opal Wade. Survivors include her children Cynthia Diann Anderson of Redmond, Oregon, Tony Ellis and wife Kathy of Moultrie, John Paul Ellis and husband Brian Menges of Atlanta, Jerry Wayne Little and wife Detra of Moultrie; grandchildren Brooke Wingate and husband Garrett, Tara Anderson, Travis Anderson, Justin Little and wife Laura, Amber Hanberry and husband Brock; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Nina Cooper and the late Tony Cooper of Moultrie, and Grace Young and the late Bobby Young of Moultrie.
