Patrick Monroe McGuirt

DOERUN, GA – Patrick Monroe McGuirt, 72, of Doerun, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 18, 2025 in Doerun Cemetery.

Born May 16, 1952 in Columbus, Georgia, he was the son of the late Elijah Monroe McGuirt and Mary Jim Granberry McGuirt. Mr. Patrick was a former dispatcher for the Moultrie Police Department and was a horticulturist at Mobley Plant Company for over 20 years. He adored his family and liked taking pictures and videos of all the special family occasions. In the evening, he would relax by watching NCIS and Longmire and spending time on his computer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Flowers McGuirt; brother, James Davis McGuirt; mother/father-in-law, Carolyn and Ed Flowers; brother-in-law, Chuck Flowers.

Survivors include his children, Matthew Patrick McGuirt, Michael Andrew McGuirt and Wendy; grandchildren, Mallory Caroline McGuirt, Lana Alethia McGuirt, Porter Andrew McGuirt; great-grandchildren, Kamdon McGuirt, Kashton McGuirt; sisters, Marcia Magill Sitton, Leigh Ellen McGuirt; brother, David Michael McGuirt; sister-in-law, Nancy Grantham and Doyle; brother-in-law, Joe Flowers and Kim; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members and friends.

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
