Nelta Ashmore Clark

MOULTRIE, GA – Nelta Lavera Ashmore Clark, 89, of Moultrie, passed away peacefully Friday, March 8, 2024, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Moultrie Church of God with Reverend Ricky McLaughlin officiating.   The service will conclude in the church, and private interment will follow at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.   

Visitation will be held at the church from 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday afternoon.  

Born August 17, 1934, in Shelby County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late John Ashmore and Georgia Ann Armstrong Ashmore.   Mrs. Clark was a loving homemaker and mother to her biological children and over thirty foster children.  She enjoyed gardening, listening to 90.3 and was lovingly known as the “manager” of Faith Radio of Moultrie.  She loved her family and loved spending time with them. She was a faithful member of Moultrie Church of God and worked at Colquitt Regional Medical Center as a clerk for forty years.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Carson Bozeman and second husband, James Wright Clark; daughter, Donna Smithwick; grandchildren, John Ira Bozeman and Trampus Bozeman; siblings, Buford Ashmore, Theldred Ashmore, Lowell Ashmore, Beulah Graham, Lauree Gilliand, Sylene Peacock, Hortamel Murdock, Delora Hall, and Onzell Ashmore.

Survivors include her sons, Darrell Carson Bozeman and wife Debbie of Norman Park and James “Bucky” Bozeman and wife Renee of Moultrie; grandchildren, Laura Tyler and husband Charlton, Jamie Bozeman and wife Sabrina, Joey Bozeman and wife Tara, Tori Bozeman and husband Deaunte, Mary Anderson and husband Mack, Jessica Smith and husband Charles, Jennifer Smithwick, Cody Smith; great-grandchildren, Carey Tyler, Cate Tyler, Carson Tyler, Caroline Tyler, Madalyn Bozeman, Jackson Bozeman, Maggie Bozeman, Josie Bozeman, Simon Bozeman, Dillon Griffin, Devin Griffin, Alex Smith, Brianna Smith, Cason Smith, Timber Anderson, Lylah Anderson, Remi Anderson, John Anderson, and Tye Lynn Anderson.
