Mildred Elizabeth Gray Stripling

Mildred Elizabeth “Pearl” Gray Stripling, 81, of Moultrie, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at her home surrounded by her three daughters.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Hugh Ward officiating.

Casketbearers will be her grandchildren, Dustin Phillips, Will Phillips, Daniel Phillips, Lindy Sanderson, Tyler Dismuke and Cody Pressley. 

Honorary casketbearers will be Grayson Phillips, Preston Dismuke, Hayden Phillips and Anderson Dismuke.

Born May 15, 1939 in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Wilce C. Gray and Vera Brogdon Kilgore Gray.  Mrs. Stripling retired from Riverside Manufacturing Company after 52 years of service.  She loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Stripling enjoyed working in her yard and was known by many to be an awesome cook.  She was affectionately known as “Pearl” and was a precious pearl to many. She and her late husband Billy operated the former DJ’s Super Shell in Moultrie for 11 years.  Mrs. Stripling was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Augusta “Billy” Stripling; son, William Anthony “Andy” Stripling; brother and sisters, Clarence Gray, Lucille Gray Clark and Dorothy Gray Conner.

Survivors include her children, Karen Sanderson and Tommy, Joy Phillips and Charlie, Regina Dismuke and Marty all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Dustin Phillips and Lori, Will Phillips and Katie, Daniel Phillips and Alex, Lindy Sanderson, Tyler Dismuke and Heather Grace, Maura Marchant and Doug, Andigale Stripling and Cody Pressley; great-grandchildren, Kendell Spencer, Grayson Phillips, Arabella Dylinski, Preston Dismuke, Hayden Phillips, Anna Mallard, Madelynn Marchant and Anderson Dismuke; sister, Louise Tucker of Thomasville; her beloved German Shepherd, Spooky.
