Moultrie, Georgia – Merry Anne Brazel, 85, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, with her family at her side.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Jim Horne officiating. Private family interment will be at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 AM, Wednesday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born June 6, 1941, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late James Willie Pettyjohn and the late Mildred Leola Howard Pettyjohn.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy James Brazel; daughter, Millie Nicole Brazel Parten; brothers, Larry James Pettyjohn and Jerome Scott Pettyjohn; and sister-in-law, Linda Touchton Pettyjohn.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Madison Parten and partner, Chris Clark; great-grandchildren, Morgan Clark and Michael Clark; sister, Connie Thornton and husband, Terry; son-in-law, George Darrell “Bo” Parten; sister-in-law, Gay Lynn Turner Pettyjohn; as well as we several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

She was a dental assistant and of the Baptist faith. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, being outdoors and spending time with her family.
