Mary Elizabeth Wallace Hodges

Mary Elizabeth Wallace Hodges, 77, of Lake City, FL, formerly of Live Oak, FL, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Solaris Healthcare in Lake City, FL.

          Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Moultrie, GA with the Rev. Julian Griner officiating.  Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery Hartsfield, GA.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended. 

          Casketbearers will be Tyler Townsend, Thean Townsend, Paul Wilson, Scot Cates, Riley Cates and Spencer Cates.

          Born April 28, 1943 in Meigs, GA, she was the daughter of the late Norman Grady Wallace and Esther Mae Duncan Wallace.  Ms. Hodges retired from Alltel as a telephone operator and was of the Baptist faith.   She loved her family, reading her bible, enjoyed cooking, going to yard sales and flea markets.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl Wallace, Clyde Wallace, James Wallace, Maxie Wallace; sister, Myrtice McLeroy.

          Survivors include her daughters, Janet Townsend and fiancé Paul Wilson of Lake City, FL, Pamela Cates and husband Scot of El Paso, TX; stepsons, Eddie Hodges, Jimmy Hodges both of Live Oak, FL; grandchildren, Tyler Townsend, Thean Townsend, Riley Cates, Mallory Cates, Spencer Cates; brother, Fred Wallace and wife Delores of Whigham, GA.
