Moultrie, Georgia – Mary Elizabeth Silvers Etheredge, 89, of Moultrie, formerly of Albany, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church with the Reverend Bub Blanton, Reverend Charles McCardle and Reverend Stuart Bundy officiating. Interment will be at Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 until 1:45 PM, Saturday, at the church.
Casketbearers will be Robert Ashley Etheredge, Caleb Etheredge, Chris Etheredge, Todd Washington, Jeffrey Roberts and Joey Tatum.
Born August 2, 1936, in Murray County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Rastus Silvers and Burnice Harmon Silvers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Silvers; sister, Grace Silvers Holwick and baby sister, Hazel Silvers.
She worked as a Switchboard Operator for Southern Bell Telephone Company, was a member of Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church, enjoyed hand quilting, embroidery, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her family
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Robert Glenn Etheredge of Moultrie; children, Jackie Etheredge King and husband, Jimmy, of Doerun, Ronnie Etheredge and wife, Melissa, of Sylvester, Greg Etheredge and wife, Pam, of Moultrie; grandchildren, Amy King Tatum and husband, Joey, Julie Ann King Bundy and husband, Rev. Stuart, Robert Ashley Etheredge and wife, Lynn, Robin Etheredge, Chris Etheredge, Amanda Roberts and husband, Jeffrey; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Susan Bateham and husband, Joseph, of Sylvester; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. She is also survived by a dedicated caregiver, Veronica Martin.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Etheredge’s memory may be made to Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Baconton, Georgia, or to Colquitt Regional Hospice.
