Moultrie, Georgia – LaRhue Goss Bates, 83, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Graveside Rites will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Funston Cemetery, with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:00 AM, Tuesday, at Funston Cemetery.

Born September 21, 1943, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Earnest Clayton Goss and the late Wydelle White Goss.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edward Bates; daughter, Marla Anne Bates; brothers, James “Jimmy” Goss, Jerry Goss and Bobby Charles Goss.

Survivors include her son, Randy Bates and wife, Christy; grandchildren, Ry Bates and wife, Lauren, Brandie Crosby and Griffin Bates Johnson and husband, Bill; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

She spent her working years as a record keeper with the United States Department of Agriculture. A faithful and long-time member at Funston Baptist Church, she enjoyed going to the beach; but most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
