Joyce Harrell Creel

Meigs, Georgia – Joyce Ethel Harrell Creel, 80, of Meigs, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, while surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 12, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Trey Eakins and Reverend Tim Conort officiating. Interment will be at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 PM, Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Craig Harrell, Mark Harrell, Wayne Cross, Russell Harrell, Michael Morris and Landon Morris.

Born May 26, 1945, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas Harrell and the late Lila Mae Smith Harrell.

She worked for RM Printing, was of the Pentecostal faith; and loved cooking, baking and making candy. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Grant Creel, Jr; stepdaughter, Lana Dione Creel; siblings, John William Harrell and wife, Belinda, Rev. Ralph Thomas Harrell, Mary June Harrell, Carolyn Elizabeth Harrell Parten and husband, Jack, Betty Jean “BJ” Harrell Russell and husband, Johnny Mack; sister-in-law, Sandra Harrell; brothers-in-law, Matt Cross and O.A. Lott; nephew, Jim Parten.

Survivors include her daughters, Beth Morris Middleton and husband, Stacey, Yvonne Morris Cone and husband, Blake; son, John Thomas Morris and wife, Dana; stepson, Grant Creel, III and wife, April; grandchildren, James Scott Morris, Austin Creel and Alice Creel; great-grandsons, Easton Morris and Wyatt Morris; siblings, Mildred Cross, Jackie Harrell, Becky Morris, Cecil Harrell and wife, Peggy, Ray Harrell and wife, Sue; sister-in-law, Joyce Harrell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
