MOULTRIE, GA- Johnny Rudene Walters, 80, of Moultrie, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, at Sunrise Nursing Home. Due to ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Charlie Tucker officiating. Born February 8, 1940, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Johnny Henry Walters and Elsie Stone Walters. Mr. Walters retired as owner and operator of Smith Brothers’ Machine and Electric Company, Inc. He was a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. His family remembers him as the best husband and father ever, who dearly loved his girls. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Bobbie Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Jynan Smith Walters; daughters, Susan Walters Herndon and husband Glyn, and Lisa Walters, all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Alyn Herndon, Aryn Herndon; brother, Billy Jack Walters and wife Mildred; several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions can be made to Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, 231 Sam Sells Road, Doerun, GA 31744. Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
