Jimmy William James Sammons

March 19, 1961 — July 15, 2020

William James “Jimmy” Sammons, 60, of Shenandoah, formerly of Moultrie, passed away after a lengthy illness.

          A private memorial service will be held at a later time.  Inurnment will be held in Murphy Cemetery next to his sister Debbie whom he loved dearly.

          Born March 19, 1961, he was the son of the late Bloncile (Barfield) Sammons and Carlton Sammons.  Jimmy loved the outdoors and was a construction worker specializing in roofing.  He was said to be the best and fastest roofer in South Georgia.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Ann (Sammons) Walton.

          Survivors include his son, William Sacks, daughter, Wendy Sammons; five grandchildren; sister, Carla Smith and Craig of Albany; brother, Jeffrey Sammons of Moultrie; special nieces and nephews, Tommy Warren, Jr. and Lisa of Coolidge, Cila Allen and Shannon of Moultrie, Gregory Smith and Lindsey of Sylvester; special nephew, Justin Walton and Jessica of Albany.
