Obituary

Moultrie, Georgia – Jeffery Dewayne Creech, age, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

A private funeral service for family and close friends was held at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with interment at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Reverend Jeff Brooks and Jeffery’s friend, Todd Humphreys officiated.

Casketbearers were McKinnon Cooper, Steven Burgess, Corey Sanchez, Ricky Creech, Gene Taylor and Josh Taylor.

Born November 21, 1964, in Camilla, Georgia, he was a son of the late Luther Cornelius Creech and the late Catherine Davis Creech.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only brother, Roy Lester Creech.

Survivors include the love of his life, his wife, Amie Marie Hancock Creech; cherished children, Jeffery Axtell and wife, Sarah, Kelly Axtell Keene, Mackenzie Burgess and husband, Steven, McKinnon Cooper and wife, Heather, Elizabeth Phillips, Kirsten Phillips and Macey Creech; grandchildren who brought him endless delight, Jayden Axtell, Bristol Burgess, Scarlett Cooper, Niklaus Cooper and Ryker Cooper; sisters, Molly Creech Crosby and Katherine Creech Howell and husband, Don; brother-in-law, Corey Sanchez and wife, Jennifer; sister-in-law, Tracy Sanchez and partner, Tom; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

Above all, Jeffery loved his family deeply, especially his sisters, and he also looked up to them with admiration and respect. He will be remembered for his hard work, honesty, kindness and the countless ways he touched the lives of others. His legacy lives on through his family and all of the memories that have been shared and will forever be cherished.

Jeffery was instilled with a work ethic that matched no other. He spent his life as a farmer and a truck driver. He loved both jobs with a passion, and it showed in his work.

He was the kind of man who always offered an ear to listen to or a shoulder to lean on. He may not have always had the right answer or the perfect words to say, but he was always present and willing to listen. His blunt honesty combined with his warm heart, made him a friend to all who knew him. He never met a stranger and carried a gift for making lasting friendships wherever he went.

His favorite words were “I’m alright.” He is now fully healed and doing “alright”. He is with our Lord.
