Jean Dempsey Register

Jean Dempsey Register, 91, of Moultrie, died Friday, April 10, 2020 at her home.

          Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, private graveside rites were held Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Pinecrest Memory Gardens.

          Born November 16, 1928 in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late George C. Dempsey, Sr. and Mildred Cheek Dempsey.  Mrs. Register retired from the Moultrie Observer as a bookkeeper and worked at Thomasville Times Enterprise.   She was a member of First United Methodist Church.   Her family remembers how she loved her family especially her grandchildren and enjoyed the beauty of flowers.  She loved drawing pictures of many different subjects.  When she was at work she was known as “mouse” and the grandchildren called her “granny mouse”.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Register; brothers, George C. “Buck” Dempsey, Jr., Richard Lee Dempsey.

          Survivors include her children, Debbie Jean Flowers, Raymond S. Register both of Moultrie, GA, Christine R. Tyus and husband Christopher of Shellman, GA; grandchildren, Blake Flowers, Chase Flowers, Wesley Tyus and Amy Persons; great-grandchildren, Beckett Flowers, Dawson Flowers, Kenadee Flowers, Emerson Kate Flowers, Mace Flowers, Zane Flowers, Cam Tyus, Cade Tyus, Addie Persons and Gracie Persons; sister, Leta Dempsey Conradi of El Paso, TX.
