Jean was born on January 9, 1937.  She was the second of 10 children born to Grover and Eunice Waters Hill and grew up in rural Colquitt County.  She began working in Atlanta at the age of 17 to help her family and worked her way through corporations, obtained a master’s degree in business management and finally owned her own Management Consulting Firm in Virginia near Washington, DC.  The firm was sold in 1985 and she and her husband Joseph bought a sailboat and spent 10 years traveling the Caribbean, South America, and along the east coast of North America.  She was also a Coast Guard certified ship’s captain.  Jean had a long life of hard work, rewarded with a significant amount of travel, and always provided help for her family.
