Jack Warren Arwood, Jr.

July 29, 1941 — February 28, 2022

 Jack Warren Arwood, Jr., 80, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022, at Legacy Village at Park Regency.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Richard Wright officiating.  Inurnment will be in Westview Cemetery.  

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born July 29, 1941, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Jack Warren Arwood, Sr. and Eleanor Blanton Arwood.   Warren was a 1959 Moultrie High School graduate and a football player.  His coach nicknamed him “Artie”.  He retired from McLean Engineering as a business analyst with over 35 years of service.    Warren was an avid sports fan, cheering on the CCHS Packers, Atlanta Braves, GA Bulldogs, FSU, Nascar and enjoyed watching golf. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sidney Arwood Newsome, Eleanor Ann Arwood Willett; special aunt, Doris Blanton Riddle; brother-in-law, “Coach” Darrell Willett; mother of his children, Mary Elizabeth Barber Arwood.   

Survivors include his sons, Jack Warren “J”, Arwood, III of College Park, GA, Bryan James Arwood of Moultrie; sister, Beth Arwood Scully of Orlando, FL; brother-in-law, Bunker Newsome of Moultrie; former wife, Judy Arwood and her sons, Brian Browning and wife Amy, Todd Browning and wife Ellen; four step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Diane Newsome Wright and Tony, Cliff Newsome and Dana, Jack Newsome and Carla, Trey Scully and Julia, Jonathan Scully and Heather, Kristen DeVane and Rob; several great-nieces and great-nephews; special caregivers, Sandra Casey, Regina Carter, Kayla Dixon, and Diamond McKinnon; Anthony Bonner and other family members.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in the honor of Warren, may be made to the Love for the Lost, a shelter for women and children, 1309 GA Highway 133 S. Moultrie, GA 31788.   All cards and donations may be mailed to his son, Bryan Arwood, PO Box 1052, Moultrie, GA 31776.
