Inez Akins Boutwell Croft

MOULTRIE, GA – Inez Akins Boutwell Croft, 90, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Legacy Village at Park Regency.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Shannon Partain and the Reverend Ricky McLaughlin officiating.   

The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45PM Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Otis Boutwell, Sr.; grandson, Michael Scott Hodnett; siblings, Thelma, William, and James.

Born April 28, 1932, in Vienna, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Morse Akins, Sr. and Annie Rebecca Phillips Akins.  Mrs. Inez was a homemaker and a member of Young Christian’s Crusade Church.   She was wonderful, independent women who loved her family, and her church family.  Mrs. Inez enjoyed working in her garden and even plowed it when she was able.  She had a variety of experiences in the work force as a nurse’s aide, waitress and a clerk.   

Survivors include her husband, Horace Croft; children, Robert Boutwell and Dolores, Timothy C. “Tim” Boutwell and wife Debbie, Scott Boutwell, Judy Boutwell Hodnett and husband Albert, Glenn Dale Boutwell; grandchildren, Tiffany, Beth, Sandy, Robby, Gabriel, Blake, Casey; several great-grandchildren, siblings, Samuel Akins, Jr. and wife Johnnie, Andrew Akins, David Akins.
