Horace Jackson Croft

Moultrie, Georgia – Horace Jackson Croft, 89, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at PruittHealth Sunrise.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Shannon Partain officiating. Private interment will be at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 PM, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be the Staff of Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born October 25, 1936, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was a son of the late William Jackson Croft and the late Ruth Davis Croft.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Johnson Croft; brother, Louie Henry Croft; sisters-in-law, Janie Croft, Betty Croft; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Chastain, Gary Rathburn, and Wallace Croft; and a special niece, Traci Chastain.

He served in the Army National Guard, worked with the Moultrie-Colquitt County Fire Rescue Squad, where he later retired as Chief. Following his service to the Rescue Squad, he became a dedicated member of the staff at Cobb Funeral Chapel, where he served as a Funeral Director Assistant, comforting countless families throughout the years.

Survivors include his sisters, Beatrice Chastain and Ruth Ann Rathburn; brothers, Frank Croft, James Croft and wife, Cindy; special nephews, David Chastain, Bill Chastain and wife Arny; as well a niece and numerous nephews, other extended family members and friends.

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
