Harold David Allen

           Harold David Allen, 80, of Moultrie, died Saturday, April 17, 2021 at his home.

          Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ricky McLaughlin, Rev. Corey Shiver and Rev. Darrell Owens officiating.  Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.

          The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are recommended.

          Casketbearers will be Matthew Childs, Andrew Allen, Keith Schramm, Justin McCook, Johnny Goodson and T.J. Mims.

          Born May 7, 1941 in Heflin, Alabama, he was the son of the late Thomas Floyd Allen and Noralene Goodson Allen Miller.  Mr. Allen was a retired welder with Destiny Industries.  He dearly loved his family and was an accomplished guitarist.  He played guitar with the Hicks Family, the Owens Family, the Happy Travelers and was a musician on several gospel records.  He enjoyed fishing and working on his lawnmower.  He was a member of Christian Life Center and attended Moultrie Church of God.

          He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Charles Allen.

          Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Shirley Eldridge Allen of Moultrie; three children, Teresa Buckner and husband Luther of Hartsfield, Lisa Bynum and husband Paul of Moultrie and David Allen and wife Donna of Norman Park; grandchildren, Alanna McCook and husband Justin, Andrew Allen, Hope Mims and husband T.J., Matthew Childs, Hannah Allen, Madison Allen; great-grandchildren, Channing Allen, Mickey Mims, Jedi Allen, Trace Mims and Calleigh McCook.
