Gloria Faye Pate

Gloria Faye Purvis Pate, 80, of Wewahitchka, formerly of Moultrie, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2021, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Mr. Kody Bidwell officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 AM Friday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Adam Anderson, Hutch Purvis, Shan Howell, Zachry Goodno and Kody Bidwell.   Honorary casketbearers will be Sawyer Malone, Harper Bidwell and Paisley Bidwell.

Born December 7, 1940, in Colquitt County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow Purvis and Onita Canady Purvis. Mrs. Pate was the owner operator of Gloria’s Unforgettable Pralines and was of the Baptist faith. She loved her family dearly and spoke with them daily. She will always be remembered as having a great sense of humor, warming laughter and a wonderful person to be around.  Mrs. Gloria enjoyed going to Dairy Queen and ordering vanilla milkshakes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Talmadge Pate.

Survivors include her daughter, April Pate Bostwick and Barry of Wewahitchka, FL; grandchildren, Ashley Bidwell and Kody, Adam Anderson; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Malone, Harper Bidwell and Paisley Bidwell; brothers and sister, Woodrow “Buddy” Purvis, Jr. and wife Vera of St. Marys, GA, Wanda Ross and husband Pete of Moultrie, Tony Purvis and wife Beth of Jackson, GA; sisters-in-law, Linda Tillman and Billy of Moultrie, Marsha Williams and Mark of Thomasville; her beloved grand-dogs, Ethel Grace and Agnes Kate.
