Gilbert Charles Sharpe

Gilbert Charles Sharpe, age 66, of Adel passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA, following a brief illness.

A small private memorial service will be held at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

He was born February 12, 1955, in Toombs County, GA, to the late John T. Sharpe, Sr. and the late Dorothy Johnson Sharpe. He served in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge in 1976. He retired from the Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation, where he worked in Tennessee, after which he moved back to Georgia. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. His other passions included drawing and carpentry work.  He was a mechanic at heart and enjoyed working on automobiles, small engines, and appliances.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John T. Sharpe, Jr.

He is survived by his daughters: Jessica Sharpe Hinson and Beth Sharpe Fish of Adel; Grandchildren: Bailey Hinson and Chance Hinson of Adel; Ali Fish of Adel and Breeanna, Zachary, and Luke Fish of Moultrie; mother of his children: Hazel Davis & husband Michael; two sisters: Shelvia Houston & husband Sonny and Sue Houston & fiancé Todd; two brothers: Robert Sharpe and Chester Sharpe; and several nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews.
