Obituary

Moultrie, Georgia - Fred Duain Lasseter, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

The funeral service is 11:00 AM, Monday, June 22, 2026, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Charles Lasseter officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 AM, Monday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Amalachi Carter, Austin Craven, Timothy Carroll, Jr., Danny Davis, Jr., Chad Lasseter, and Blake Lasseter. 

Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Marie Lasseter, whom he cherished deeply throughout their life together. Their marriage was a testament to love, commitment, and devotion.

A man of many talents and strong work ethic, Fred was a proud Master Plumber, HVAC technician, and electrician. He spent his life serving others through his skilled craftsmanship and dedication to his trade. He earned the respect of colleagues, friends, and community members alike through his integrity, knowledge, and willingness to help others.

Fred was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and faithfully served in many capacities throughout his membership. At the time of his passing, he held the honored position of Worshipful Master, a role that reflected the respect and admiration he earned from his fellow Masons. A faithful member of Bay Free Will Baptist Church, Fred treasured his church family and found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving the Lord. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life and was evident in the kindness and compassion he showed to those around him.

Known and loved throughout his community, Fred never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, generous heart, wisdom and unwavering love for his family and friends. His legacy of faith, hard work, service and love will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.

He is survived by his children, Stevie Carroll (Melissa), Tammy Carter, and Fred Duain Lasseter, Jr. (Terri); grandchildren, Justin Carroll, Brittany Carroll (Amos), Ashley Perez-Carter (Travis), Audrea Brightwell (Alan), Amber Carter, Blanche Berry (Shaun), Daniel Carroll (Shannon), Chad Lasseter (Nichole), Blake Lasseter, Terron Jordan (Matt), Alex Merritt (Ansley), Katie Mason and Megan Clark; great-grandchildren, Adrianna Carter Swain (James), Austin Craven, Aubren Craven (Nathan), Josie Brightwell, Jacob Brightwell, Amalachi Carter, Alijah Carter, Andres Perez Carter, Brentley Lasseter, Hunter Lasseter, Jade Lasseter, Zane Plymel, Sean Jordan, Zoey Carroll, Khloey Carroll, Temarie Johnson, Jared Carroll, Mackenzie Mason, Javen Whetstone, James Mason, Jaxen Berry, Lanee Mason, Anna Carroll, Dakota Clark, Amicah Carroll, Ansleigh Carroll and Johanna Carroll; great-great-grandchildren, Anders Young and Karter Swain; siblings, Charlie Lasseter, Jr. (Linda) and Alice Faye Chitty.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Love Lasseter, Sr. and Clara Mae Faison Lasseter; wife, Helen Marie Smith Lasseter; children, Angela “Angie” Bishop and Timothy Carroll; grandchildren, Jonathan Carroll and Jared Carroll; and sisters, Gwendolyn Louise Lasseter, Helen Grace Lewis, Hazel Virginia Truluck and Mary Carpenter.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his beloved Marie and is resting in the presence of his Lord and Savior. His memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
