Obituary

Blairsville, Georgia – Floyd William Crosby, Jr., 76, of Blairsville, Georgia, peacefully passed into the loving arms of God on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at his residence, with his family at his side.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating. Mister Wayne Lee, Mister Lavon Striplin, Mister Allan Lee and Mister Matt Grumbach will share memories and eulogies. Interment with Military Honors will be at Westview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Fleischer, Paxton George, Jonah Lee, Jaden Lee, Jaxon Lee and Eli Crosby.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Crosby, Allan Lee, Steve Carswell, Perry Tillman, Matt Grumbach, Joe Harrell and Jerry Young.

Born June 21, 1949, in Adel, Georgia, he was a son of the late Floyd William Crosby, Sr. (Shirley) and the late Hazel Phillips Crosby.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Tillman Crosby; daughters, Susan Crosby George (Jared) and Christy Crosby Lee (Allan); grandchildren, Jacob Fleischer (Ashley), Hannah Basford (Grey), Paxton George, Jacey Lee, Jonah Lee, Jaden Lee and Jaxon Lee; sister, Joyce Crosby Knight; brother, Dale George Crosby (Renee); as well as numerous close nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends that he considered his own.

He faithfully served in the United States Army fighting in the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Specialist E4. After his military service, he worked for and retired from Lance, Inc. and later worked as an insurance broker. 

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Albany, Georgia, and after moving to Blairsville, Georgia, he attended First Baptist Church of Blairsville.

Fishing on Lake Nottely, camping and hunting were some of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs; but most importantly, was a dedicated family man, especially for his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who all lovingly referred to him as “Bobo”.
