Eunice Ford Cox, 89, of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Pruitt Health-Brownwood Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Aaron Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be her great-grandsons, Seth Norman, Layne Norman, Ryan Fitzgerald, Brett Fitzgerald and Jacob Brightwell.
Born May 23, 1932, in Heflin, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Delonia Ford and Versie Parrish Ford and raised by her late sister and brother-in-law, Bill (Leona)and Dawson Willis. Mrs. Cox retired from Stringfellow Elementary School as a paraprofessional and worked at Riverside Manufacturing Company. She was an active member of Kingwood Baptist Church, a faithful Christian lady who served the Lord by teaching Sunday School. She will always be remembered as the “glue” that held the family together and her compassionate caring ways will be cherished by generations to come.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe B. Cox, Jr.; daughter, Gail Johnston.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Harrell of Moultrie; grandchildren, Selena Norman and David of Moultrie, Sandy Fitzgerald and Chad of Coolidge, Stacey Gay and Carlton of Moultrie, Bryan Harrell of Moultrie; great-grandchildren, Seth Norman and fiancé Heather, Erin Norman and fiancée Weyman, Layne Norman, Ryan Fitzgerald, Brett Fitzgerald, Josie Brightwell, Jacob Brightwell; special friend and roommate, Alita Hobby.
The family may be contacted at the home of Stacey Gay, 200 Holly Trail, Moultrie.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Resident Council Activities Fund for Pruitt Health-Brownwood, 223 Sunset Circle, Moultrie, GA. 31768, and or the Georgia Baptist Children Home, 9420 Blackshear Hwy, Baxley, GA 31513.
