Emma Mildred Farmer McCorkle, 92, of Moultrie, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
A private graveside service will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021.
Born October 30, 1928, in Sumner, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late David Monroe Farmer and Fannie Mae Mathews Farmer. Mrs. McCorkle was a homemaker who loved to fellowship with friends and family. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for more than 60 years where she enjoyed serving and worshipping. Being outside was one of her favorite pastimes, where she did yardwork, tended her flowers, and enjoyed watching the beautiful birds.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCorkle was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Robert McCorkle, Sr.; son, Julian Robert “Bobby” McCorkle, Jr.; brothers, Marvin Farmer, D. M. Farmer; sisters, Mae Powell and Minnie Wilson.
Survivors include her children; Diane M. Bridges of Moultrie, Gail M. Smith and husband Doyle of Moultrie, Ken McCorkle of San Antonio, Texas, Linda M. Hayes and husband Lee of Thomasville; brother, Walter Frank Farmer of Fernandina, Fla; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
